黄永玉，土家族，1924 年生于湖南常德，祖籍凤凰县，笔名众多，人称“荷痴”。他画荷反传统“计白当黑”，以“黑显白”使画面主体突出、厚重有力。有人认为国画精髓在水墨山水，说他画不正宗，他笑言要“告状”。动乱时，荷花的高洁成为他精神支撑，他赏荷、速写八千余张。其荷花绚丽灿烂，他笑称骂污泥是忘本。如今他家中种满各地莲花，此藏品《闲塘荷景》8.8平尺，完好，极具珍藏价值！Huang Yongyu, of the Tujia ethnic group, was born in Changde, Hunan, in 1924, with ancestral roots in Fenghuang County. He has numerous pseudonyms and is known as the "Lotus Obsessive." When painting lotuses, he defies the traditional Chinese painting principle of "using white as black," instead employing "using black to highlight white" to make the main subject stand out with a robust and powerful presence. Some believe the essence of Chinese painting lies in ink landscapes and deem his work unorthodox, to which he humorously threatens to "sue." During times of turmoil, the purity of the lotus served as his spiritual anchor. He admired lotuses and made over eight thousand sketches of them. His lotus paintings are vibrant and splendid, and he jokingly remarks that disparaging mud—the nurturing ground—is a betrayal of one's roots. Now, his home in Beijing boasts a pond filled with lotuses from various regions. This collectible piece, Leisurely Pond with Lotus Scenery, measures 8.8 square feet, is in excellent condition, and holds immense collectible value!
